Alta to North Cape by Helicopter

Come discover the vast, wild arctic land of Finnmark, Norway’s northernmost county from the bird’s-eye view of a helicopter. Have your camera ready as you travel from Alta to North Cape and back – this tour will give you nonstop photo opportunities!

The tour begins at Alta airport, where we take off and set a course to the famous “northernmost point in Europe” – North Cape! Watch the natural world change below you from Alta’s lush river valleys and tree-studded hills to the harsh and untamed plateau. If you are lucky you might even see a reindeer or two along the way. We will cruise over tiny villages and along rugged coastlines, and the farther north we go, the more barren the landscape will become. The trees and scrubby bushes will give way to rocks and windswept outcroppings, until finally at the north coast there will only be the Barents Sea stretching as far as the eye can see. We will land at North Cape, and you will have an hour to explore the cape and visit the Center there before returning to Alta. Wild, beautiful arctic nature at its best, from overhead and up close – it’s a rare experience of a lifetime!
